Benefice of Bethersden with High Halden and Woodchurch

Know God, Show His Love, Spread His Word

SSE in bloom

A group of volunteers has entered Woodchurch into
the Royal Horticultural Society competition
South & South East in Bloom
(as shown on BBC).
Our village will be judged in July.
Everyone is welcome
to join this Woodchurch Community Project and we need volunteers to offer all kinds of help including:

“Fostering” plant pluglets until large enough to be planted into the new containers (could be 2 or 20 plants)

Litter collecting

Tidying up

Offering advice, experience and encouragement (always welcome)

Stewarding on the day (date to be advised)

If you are curious or want to find out more please pop along and chat on
Saturday 12 May between 10am–1pm
at All Saints Church, Bethersden Road, Woodchurch TN26 3QJ.

Bring secateurs, trowels, brooms and, whilst chatting to find out more, pull up some weeds and trim those overgrown shrubs – give those headstones a bit of a polish!

Take the opportunity to meet other Woodchurch In Bloom volunteers.

On Tuesday 15 May between 7:30 – 9pm at The Six Bells, Woodchurch meet
Woodchurch In Bloom
volunteers and see what is being planned
and where you can help.

The colour theme of predominantly red flowers was selected for the

competition in July last year and the redflowers will form part of the Remembrance Day ceremony at the War Memorial in November 2018
to commemorate 100 years since the end of World War I.
